I didn't watch this film until months after it had been released. Sure, I'm a big sci-fi fan, but I didn't expect to like it. Then it was broadcast on television one day... I watched it... and immediately loved it. The semi-documentary filming style adds to the film's impact. This film is an answer to those who complain that alien invaders always arrive in Manhattan.
I still haven't seen this and I haven't read your review. I know more about this film than I would prefer (I love to be surprised and go into a film knowing nothing about it.) I'm looking forward to seeing it someday.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth watching. I had no idea what to expect. When I saw it I was pleasantly surprised. It's an unusual film with an unusual style, and the South African setting makes it all the more fascinating.
